Indian River County added 22 new positive coronavirus cases on Wednesday, upping the total to 256, according to the Florida Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the county remained at 12.

The 22 new Indian River County cases are:

  • A 22-year-old man who traveled to Ireland and had known contact with an infected person
  • A 32-year-old man with no travel history
  • A 73-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person
  • A 49-year-old man with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person
  • A 35-year-old woman with unknown travel history who had known contact with an infected person
  • A 45-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person
  • A 91-year-old woman with unknown travel history
  • A 60-year-old woman with no travel history
  • A 20-year-old woman with no travel history
  • A 94-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person

Health department officials released the names of long-term care facilities with COVID-19 cases. Officials also released the names of the facilities with COVID-19 deaths.

So far, a total of 43 residents and three non-residents in the county had been hospitalized due to the virus. The number of county cases and hospitalizations are both cumulative and do not represent the current number of positive cases being traced or the current number of people in the hospital.

There were four people still in the hospital as of last Friday, health officials said.

For the Indian River County cases, 156 are white, 20 are black, 54 are Hispanic, 27 were listed as other and the remaining cases were listed as “unknown” regarding race or ethnicity.

Health officials have tested 9,379 people total in the county, with 256 testing positive and 9,123 testing negative. Officials said 25 test results were pending.

The dashboard shows a 2.7 percent positivity rate for Indian River County, reported daily. But, last week, health officials noted the weekly positivity rate had increased to 3.6 percent.

Statewide, the number of county cases increased by 2,610, bringing the total to 82,719. The number of deaths increased by 25, raising the statewide death toll to 3,018.

Indian River County added 18 new positive coronavirus cases on Tuesday, upping the total to 234, according to the Florida Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the county remained at 12.

The 18 new Indian River County cases are:

Indian River County added 11 new positive coronavirus cases on Monday, upping the total to 216, according to the Florida Department of Health. Health officials also announced one new death, raising the county death toll to 12.

The new Indian River County death is:

  • A 41-year-old woman with no travel history, but who had known contact with an infected person. The woman’s case was counted June 9.

The county reported 11 new cases, but the case-by-case list showed 12 additional cases. It was unclear if there was an error in the data.

Indian River County added eight new positive coronavirus cases on Sunday, upping the total to 205, according to the Florida Department of Health. Cumulative hospitalizations are now 39 and the death toll from COVID-19 remains at 11.

The new cases announced on Sunday are:

A 16-year-old female with no travel history who had known contact with an infected person.

A 25-year-old female with no travel history.

A 50-year-old female with no travel history.

An 80-year-old male with no travel history.

A 26-year-old female with unknown travel history.

A 24-year-old female with unknown travel history.

A 76-year-old male with unknown travel history.

An 80-year-old male with unknown travel history.

Florida had another near-record day on Sunday with the new total topping 75,000 cases at 75,568.

As of Sunday morning, a total of 11,942 Florida residents have been hospitalized with COVID-19 illness and 2,931 Florida residents have died of complications from COVID-19.

The seven new Indian River County cases are:

  • A 68-year-old man with no travel history and unknown contact with an infected person

Eight facilities in Indian River County – HarborChase of Vero Beach, Palm Garden of Vero Beach, Sonata of Vero Beach, Renaissance Senior Living, Isles of Vero Beach, Grace Rehabilitation Center, Rosewood Manor and Solaris Senior Living – reported coronavirus cases among residents and staff.

HarborChase reported at least 11 coronavirus cases, including five deaths among residents, health officers said. Palm Garden reported two cases, Sonata reported five cases, while Renaissance and Isles of Vero Beach reported one case each.

Grace Rehabilitation reported one case, Rosewood Manor reported two cases and Solaris reported one case.

Health department officials said a total of 33 residents and three non-residents in the county had been hospitalized after falling ill from the virus. The number of county cases and hospitalizations are both cumulative and do not represent the current number of positive cases being tracked or the current number of people in the hospital.

Authorities said three people remain in the hospital.

For those who tested positive in Indian River County, 91 are white, 12 are black, 14 are Hispanic, 17 were listed as other and the remaining cases were listed as “unknown/no data” regarding race or ethnicity.

There have been 6,280 tests total completed in Indian River County, with 144 people testing positive and 6,136 testing negative, officials said. Officials said 48 test results are pending.

The positive test rate for Indian River County is 2.3 percent.

Statewide, there were 1,419 new cases, raising the total number of positive coronavirus cases to 60,183 Thursday. Health officials announced 41 additional deaths, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,607.

  • A 33-year-old woman with unknown travel history
