Cold front to sweep through county Wednesday

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Residents might want to grab a jacket as chilly temperatures were expected to hit the county this week.

The colder weather will begin Wednesday evening, which will have a low temperature near 52 degrees, weather experts said. The night will be mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of rain.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 65 degrees, National Weather Service in Melbourne officials said. Thursday night will have a low temperature near 44 degrees.

Friday will have a high temperature near 62 degrees, weather experts said. Friday night will have a low temperature near 45 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday were expected to have temperatures in the mid-to-high 60s and low temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Wind speeds for the week were predicted to be 5-to-20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
