Richard Francis Doyle Jr., 63, Sebastian

Richard Francis Doyle Jr., 63, of Sebastian, died Jan. 5, 2020.

Visitation will be held 2–6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 North Central Ave., Sebastian, with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon John Dunlop, officiant.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, with Father John Morrissey, celebrant.

Interment will follow immediately after the service at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian.

 

Frank T. Giusti, 96, Vero Beach

Frank T. Giusti, 96, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, with his family by his side. He was born on May 13, 1923, in Washington, D.C., to Italian immigrant parents, the late Idamo and Maria Ridolfi Giusti.

He graduated from Central High School, Washington, D.C., in1941.

He married the late Rosemary Graham in 1950 and they resided in Derwood, Md., where they raised their four sons.

They later retired and moved to Vero Beach in 1979.
Frank was a World War II US Army Air Corps veteran, who was later recalled for active duty in 1950 with the US Air Force.

He spent 38 years with the US Postal Inspection Service, Washington, D.C., until he retired in 1979 as the Senior Budget Analyst.

Frank was an avid Washington Redskins and Washington Senators fan and often told the story of being at Griffith Stadium watching his Redskins on Dec. 7, 1941.

He loved to vacation with his family in Atlantic City and Avalon, N.J., and later in life enjoyed European vacations and cruises that eventually took him back to his parent’s hometown of Lucca, Italy.

Frank was an active member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1941 and attained the 4th Degree, Honorary Life Membership and served as Deputy Grand Knight.

Frank started every day at Dunkin Donuts with a cup of black coffee and blueberry muffin, sharing stories and laughs with his many friends over the years.  He was a man who never met a stranger, and had a gift for engaging friends in discussions on a wide range of topics.

Frank is survived by his sons, Thomas Graham Giusti (Kathleen), of Lovettsville, Va.; Christopher (Meg), of The Villages, Fla.; Paul (Christina), of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and John, of Wyoming, Mich.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and his dear friend Barbara Domico.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary in 2004.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon at St. Helen Catholic Church, on Friday, Jan. 17, with burial immediately following at Crestlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the VNA & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
