Master’s Academy 8th grader accepted to Page & Messenger program

Isaac Van Buren, an 8th grade student at Master’s Academy of Vero Beach, was recently accepted into the Florida House of Representatives Page & Messenger Program for the 2020 Regular Session.

Van Buren will serve the week of March 2 in Tallahassee. The Page & Messenger Program is a long-standing tradition in the Florida House of Representatives. Students who serve in this program have their names entered in the Journal of the House as an official record of their time spent in the Florida House.

Pages and Messengers observe lawmakers, lobbyists, staff, and constituents working together in the legislative process. They may attend committee meetings, House sessions in the Chamber, and sometimes even have an opportunity to attend press conferences.

Students often hold a mock session in the House Chamber to apply their newly acquired knowledge. The Page & Messenger Program is a memorable experience and a great educational opportunity.

Van Buren is looking forward to this experience and is honored to have been selected.

“I am thankful to go and will try to represent Christ, Master’s Academy, my family, and myself to the best of my ability,” he said.

Master’s Academy of Vero Beach has been serving families in Indian River and northern St. Lucie Counties for more than 21 years by providing a solid biblical worldview education to students in preschool through 12th grade.
