Firefighters battled a fire that broke out at a two-story home on Doubloon Drive south of the Alma Lee Loy Bridge Friday afternoon.
The fire caused heavy smoke in the area. Traffic was directed along Hwy. A1A to ensure emergency crews had room to work.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
