A long-suspected heroin and Fentanyl drug dealer is under arrest, ending a month-long investigation and netting what could be a record amount of Fentanyl seized by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office searched the home of accused dealer Anthony Harris, 35, 5500 block NW Cordery Street, in the Torino community of Port St. Lucie, while Harris was at the St. Lucie West Courthouse Annex to pay a fine.
“The search of this house revealed the largest amount of Fentanyl I think our agency has ever seen,” Sheriff Ken Mascara said. Harris was apprehended at the courthouse.
The month-long investigation involved a number of undercover drug buys and other surveillance techniques which earned the Sheriff’s Office arrest and search warrants for Harris.
Drugs found in Harris’ home included 109 grams (¼ pound) of Fentanyl, 29 grams (1 ounce) of heroin, 25 grams of cocaine and 15 pounds of marijuana. Investigators also found two handguns.
“Harris is a convicted felon, so in addition to these large amounts of narcotics, he was also illegally in possession of a firearm,” Mascara said. “Our agency continues its commitment to flushing out these drug dealers, curbing the overdoses in our community and making neighborhoods safe from the criminal element that accompanies these operations.”
Harris was charged with nine counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, nine counts of intent to sell synthetic narcotics, six counts of possession of cocaine, five counts of intent to sell cocaine, nine counts of use of a two-way device to facilitate a felony, two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of trafficking heroin, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a $935,000 bond.
