I-95 reopen after two-vehicle wreck

Update: The northbound lanes on Interstate 95 reopened by 8:30 p.m. Monday, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Alvaro Feola said.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Two people were seriously hurt Monday in a crash that blocked all northbound lanes on Interstate 95, officials said.

The two-vehicle collision – involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck – happened about 4 p.m. Monday on northbound I-95 near mile marker 150, officials said. Two people were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute with serious injuries, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Alvaro Feola said.

One person was taken by ambulance and the other was flown, Indian River County sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said. An update on their conditions was not immediately available.

Flowers said Florida Highway Patrol troopers will investigate the wreck.
