Stepping into the courtyard at 1150 Carolina Circle SW in Indian River Club, it would be easy to stop right there and never step foot inside the main house. The heated saltwater pool and Jacuzzi beckon with the gentle sound of water moving. The summer kitchen begs to have the grill fired up, and the ample seating provides plenty places to kick up the feet and relax.
But there is so much more to this home – to start, the cabana/guest house adjacent to the pool is the perfect place for company to stay. You get your privacy – they get theirs.
For Robin Jones, the cabana has served as the place for her children to stay when they come home to visit, but it would also make a great in-law suite.
It’s also handy pool to have poolside – the full bath allows pool-users to change out of swimming suits without traipsing into the main house.
“Really, the outdoors is the central part of the house,” said Jones, who fell in love with Indian River Club at first sight.
Jones and her husband first came down to Vero Beach in April 2017. They played golf that Saturday at the club. On Sunday they looked at properties. And on Monday, they put in an offer.
“It spoke to both of us,” Jones said.
The main entry from the courtyard into the house opens into the formal living and dining rooms.
It has a “nice flow, I think,” Jones said.
Stepping into the spacious kitchen appointed with stainless-steel appliances and black-and-white granite counters, Jones smiled.
“This is where I live,” she said. The kitchen features a bar perfect for comfortable conversation while the host cooks and friends gather. A center island serves as a great spot to hand someone a cutting board and help out with the meal’s preparation.
Overhead is a unique feature –a frosted disc allows the natural sunlight to come in, muted.
Off the formal living room is a sunroom converted into a home office. It had previously been an open-air porch that prior owners enclosed. Jones took it a step farther and converted the space into an office.
The office has a door out into the yard and has a lovely view of the 12th hole of the golf course. Though it looks close, Jones said she’s not had any issues with the golfers hitting a ball at the house.
“It’d be a pretty bad shot if they hit my house,” she said.
Through the living and dining room is the guest wing – an area with two en suite bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as the laundry/mud room leading out to the garage. One of the guest rooms has direct access to the pool.
The master bedroom is on the other side of the house, off the kitchen by way of a hallway that also leads to a bright and cheerful powder room.
The large master bedroom has wood-look tile flooring and the window has a remote-controlled shade. There are two walk-in closets and the en suite is separated from the bedroom with a pocket door.
The en suite features a water closet, a soaker tub, dual vanities and a glass-enclosed shower with an instant heater for the water.
“It’s an easy place to live,” Jones said – close to the beach, close to I-95, close to all that Vero Beach has to offer.
But now she’s looking for something different and has decided to buy in PGA Village Verano in Port St. Lucie. She says she will remain a member of Indian River Club and expects to return a couple times a week for “golf with the girls.”
