Albert Johan Hilberts, 72, Vero Beach

Albert Johan Hilberts, 72, of Vero Beach, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. Al was born in Utrecht, Netherlands.

He moved to the United States at the age of 7. He lived in New Jersey before moving to Florida in 1999. Al worked for M.C. Miller Company, Inc. for close to 50 years. He also was a devoted E.M.T. Volunteer for many years in Pompton Lakes, N.J.

Al was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who was adored by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Kris, whom he shared 46 years with; sons, Chad (wife, Erika), Corey (wife, Gwyn); daughter, Michele; and grandchildren, Toby and Skylar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antina and Aart; as well as his brother John.

At Al’s request, there will be be no services at this time.

 

Frank W. McLaughlin, Jr., 71, Vero Beach

Frank W. McLaughlin, Jr., 71, of Vero Beach, passed away Oct. 29, 2019, at Seabreeze Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Hackensack, N.J., to Marion Ferraris McLaughlin, of Vero Beach, and the late Frank McLaughlin Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; sons, Sean (Sandy) McLaughlin, Jason (Becky) McLaughlin, and Frank (Sandy Sarus) McLaughlin III; daughter, Jessica (Chad Leighton) McLaughlin, all of Vero Beach; brother, Brian (Debbie) McLaughlin, of Pequannock, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Frank enjoyed passing down his love of fishing to his grandchildren, catching many “whoppers” in the lake in his backyard.

He was an avid fan of professional sports especially his beloved NY Giants. He took great pleasure in being promoted from Grandpa to PopPop. His grands and greats were a source of pleasure in his life.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 8 at Noon at St Helen Catholic Church 2000 20th St., Vero Beach.

Thomas Allen Potzer Sr., 66, Vero Beach

Thomas Allen Potzer Sr., 66, died Oct. 31, 2019, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Dover, Del., and lived in Sebastian since 1994 coming from Springfield, Tenn.

Tommy retired from Chemrock Corporation after 20 years as an insulator working all over the world and the US on cryogenic nitrogen tanks.

After retirement he worked for B & M Pumps – Motors – Hydraulics, Inc.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Debra K. Potzer, of Sebastian; sons, Thomas Allen Potzer, Jr., of Sebastian, and Robert Louis Potzer, of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepdaughter, Margie Harper, of Vero Beach; and sister, Cathy West (David), of Jacksonville.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Strunk Funeral Home, 1623 North Central Ave., Sebastian.
