Marina T. Gilstrap, 67, Vero Beach

Marina T. Gilstrap, 67, of Vero Beach, died July 24, 2019, at Cleveland Clinic – Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach. Marina was born in Nassau, Bahamas, and lived in Vero Beach for 58 years coming from her birth place.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Martinez, of Vero Beach; son, Alton Gilstrap, of Vero Beach; brothers, Phillip Vercellotti, of Vero Beach, Marshall Darville and Johnny Darville, both of the Bahamas; sister, Elizabeth Lowe, of the Bahamas; grandson, Nicandro Martinez, of Vero Beach; granddaughters, Jennifer Solis and Marina Simbron, both of Vero Beach; nephews, Greg, Eric and Johnathan Vercellotti, all of Vero Beach; and her nieces, Charity Tull, of Vero Beach, and Aniqua Darville, Anika Darville, Cheyanne Darville, Kenyetta Hepburn, Felicia Pinder and Heather Lowe, all of the Bahamas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Ernest Gilstrap, Sr., in 1999.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Saturday July 27, Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.

 

Mary Joan Kroeger, 96, Sebastian

Mary Joan Kroeger, 96, died July 24, 2019, at Pelican Garden Assisted Living Facility in Sebastian. She was born in Weehawken, N.J., and lived in the Sebastian area since the late 1980s coming from Las Vegas.

Mary was a US Coast Guard veteran serving during WWII.

She attended St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Sebastian.

Mary loved to knit, going to the beach and her family.

Survivors include her grandson, Glen R. Kroeger, Jr., of Sebastian; son, Warren G. Kroeger, Jr.; great-grandsons, Monte Kroeger and Glen R, Kroeger III.

She was preceded in death by her son, Glen Roger Kroeger; and husband, Warren G. Kroeger, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Services entrusted to Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.

 

Frank M. Nesgoda, 77, Sebastian

Frank M. Nesgoda, 77, of Sebastian, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the VNA Hospice house in Vero Beach. He was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Swoyerville, Pa.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

Military Honors will be given right after Mass. The family would like to invite everyone to their house after the funeral at 51 Joy Haven Drive, Sebastian.
