Cops on hunt for thrift store thieves

Port St. Lucie police are searching for two thieves who helped themselves to a trunk and some children’s toys at the Dogs and Cats Forever Thrift Store on Bayshore Boulevard.

The theft happened late in the evening of May 5 and was reported by a store volunteer a few days later.

Surveillance video from the store, located 1762 SW Bayshore Blvd., shows two female suspects taking the trunk and its unknown contents from the donation area in front of the store. The suspects put the trunk in the rear of their white Chevy Astro van. One of the suspects then grabbed some children’s toys and put those in the van as well.

When the van was loaded, the suspects pulled out of the parking lot.

The suspects are described as being white females with thin builds and dark hair. Both had cigarettes. One was wearing a black T-shirt with black or gray leggings, black shoes and a black ball cap with an unknown logo. The other was wearing a white tank top, black leggings, sandals and a light-colored ball cap.

The Port St. Lucie Police Department is asking those with information regarding either the theft or the suspects to contact Det. Rodriguez by calling 772-873-6524 or call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-TIPS (8477).
