Plane makes emergency landing; condition of those aboard unknown

SEBASTIAN — Authorities are investigating after a plane made an emergency forced landing in a field Monday afternoon.

The incident involving a Piper PA28 aircraft happened about 1 p.m. Monday in a field in Sebastian, said Jim Peters, spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration. The condition of the two people aboard was not immediately known.

The FAA will investigate what caused the incident.
