Stolen pups found safe and sound in Martin Co.

Two puppies that were taken from a pet store in Port St. Lucie were ultimately located in Martin County and returned.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office found the puppies in good health and arranged for them to be returned to Paradise Puppies Boutique, located at 1694 SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard, in Port St. Lucie.

How the Martin County authorities tracked down the stolen puppies was not released prior to publication.

Detectives from both the Sheriff’s Office and Port St. Lucie police were investigating and interviewing the suspects before determining any arrests.

The theft of two puppies, a golden doodle and a red husky, happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on April 4. According to police, two female suspects asked an employee if they could pick up and pet the two pups.

The employee obliged and then went into the back room briefly, according to surveillance footage. While the employee was gone, the two females – of unknown age – fled with the dogs in a black midsize Infinity SUV.
