Joe Griffin hired as town manager for Indian River Shores

The Indian River Shores Town Council on Thursday chose to hire former Sebastian City Manager Joe Griffin from a pool of three finalists vying for the top job at the town, officials said.

Griffin will be paid a $140,000 salary and will start Feb. 11, said former town manager Robbie Stabe. Griffin’s competition was two ousted city managers from south Brevard County, former Melbourne city manager Mike McNees and former Palm Bay city manager Gregg Lynk.

Stabe announced his retirement last May, but had remained on the job during the lengthy search process. Griffin submitted his resignation letter from Sebastian in January 2018, noting he wanted to focus on family and other interests.
