Deadline approaching to register to vote in Vero Beach special election

VERO BEACH – Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan reminds City of Vero Beach residents that they must be registered to vote by Monday, Jan. 28 in order to be eligible to vote in the City of Vero Beach Special Municipal Election.

In accordance with Florida Statute 97.055, the registration books close on the 29th day before each election. Once the registration books close, new registrations may be accepted for the purpose of future elections only.

To be eligible to vote in the City of Vero Beach Special Municipal Election, voters must reside within the Vero Beach city limits.
Online voter registration is available on the Supervisor of Elections website at VoteIndianRiver.com. Voter registration applications are also available at the Supervisor of Elections office, public libraries, county offices, city halls, and state agencies that provide public assistance.

Completed applications must be delivered to the Supervisor of Elections office or postmarked by the close of business on Monday, Jan. 28.
Registered voters may check their registration status at VoteIndianRiver.com by selecting “Am I Registered?” on the homepage. Insert your last name, birthdate, and the house number of your address, and follow the online instructions. Voters may also call the Elections Office at 772-226-3440 to verify their registration status.
