The woman, identified as Katelynn Dellilo, argued with her boyfriend and said, “(expletive) you and the baby,” before walking away. The child had on a t-shirt, pants and socks with a blanket in the 50-degree weather on Tuesday night, authorities said.

The boyfriend, who took the child back to an apartment, is not the toddler’s biological father or caregiver, reports show.

Deputies arrested Dellilo on a charge of child neglect. Dellilo was held Thursday at the Indian River County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Dellilo’s father reported the child missing about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of 40th Avenue. Indian River County deputies spoke with Dellilo, who said she gave the toddler to her boyfriend about 8:30 p.m. the night before.

Dellilo said the boyfriend was supposed to take the child to meet Dellilo at the Howard Johnson hotel, but never arrived. Deputies asked Dellilo multiple times where she last saw the toddler, and she replied, “(Expletive) you, just arrest me,” reports show.

Deputies spoke with the boyfriend, who said he called Dellilo multiple times to get her to take the child. Another woman saw the boyfriend walking with the baby and allowed them to stay at her apartment.

When deputies asked Dellilo if she knew whether the boyfriend had a place to stay, she replied she did not know, reports show. Dellilo’s father went to the sheriff’s office and took custody of the child.

Deputies arrested Dellilo and took her to the county jail. Dellilo has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 15, court records show.
