Authorities said O’Buckley walked into the Seacoast Bank about 1:30 p.m. Friday at 12th Street and U.S. 1., south of Vero Beach. O’Buckley, who did not have a weapon or note, demanded cash from a bank teller, Flowers said.

The teller gave O’Buckley the money. Bank employees then called 911.

Deputies did not release the amount of cash stolen.

Flowers said two witnesses followed O’Buckley after he fled the bank. The witnesses held O’Buckley near a wooded area nearby until law enforcement arrived.

Deputies searched O’Buckley and found the stolen cash in his pocket. Deputies arrested O’Buckley and took him to the county jail.

No further details were immediately available.
