Manual recount could be needed as votes are tallied

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A manual recount of ballots could be required as votes continue to be tallied. Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan is awaiting word from the Secretary of State.

She issued a notice that the order of a recount could be given before 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.

The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Office recently completed a machine recount. Other counties around the state are still tabulating their recount tallies.

Recounts were ordered for the U.S. Senate, Governor, and Agriculture Commissioner races for the general election in Florida.

Swan said the public is invited to observe the manual recount – if the recount is ordered – at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 4375 43rd Ave., Vero Beach. If ordered, the recount will commence at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
