Orchid Island broker Oberlink named Realtor of the Year

Scott Oberlink had a good evening last month at Quail Valley Country Club, where he was named Realtor of the Year by the Realtors Association of Indian River County, an award that recognizes contributions to local, state and national Realtor Associations, such as serving on committees and providing leadership for Association efforts.

Oberlink, who has lived in Vero for more than two decades, took over as broker at Orchid Island Realty in 2016 when the business was purchased from the developer by Orchid Island Beach and Golf Club members. Before that, he was a principal at Onsite Realty Group at Pointe West.

“I started my career working with builders and developers, and that experience was a factor in me getting the job as broker here,” Oberlink says.

Other brokers in town say Oberlink has made it easier and more profitable for outside agents to list and sell homes in the highly-regarded north island community.

Orchid Island Realty handles the majority of listings and sales in the ocean-to-river development, but outside brokers are welcomed.

“An average of about 28 homes change hands here each year and we had 21 different agents who had sales in the community last year,” Oberlink says. “My partner Heidi Levy and I are here to help them make sales.”

“Scott has done a wonderful job with Orchid Island and has been open arms to all outside realtors,” says Cindy O’Dare, broker associate with Premier Estate Properties. “He’s very warm and friendly and has an in-depth knowledge of the community. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him this year and his Realtor of the Year award was well deserved!”

“The atmosphere at Orchid Island is totally welcoming to other brokers,” says Kimberly Thorpe, co-owner of Treasure Coast Sotheby’s International Realty. “Scott coordinates brokers opens and encourages us all to keep our and his listings in mind for buyers we are working with now or will meet in the future. He’s also very supportive and congratulates others’ successes. I congratulate him on his winning a truly deserved award, Realtor of the Year!”

Candidates for Realtor of the Year are selected by a nomination committee and voted on by the membership of the Realtors Association of Indian River County.
