In Memoriam: Sept. 19

Jeani M. Haryslak, 76, Vero Beach

Jeani M. Haryslak, 76, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at hospice with her family by her side. She was born to the late Joseph and Mary Mazza on Oct. 3, 1941, in NYC, N.Y.

Jeani graduated from Roxborough High School in 1958 and attended the Philadelphia Art Institute.

She married Lawrence W. Haryslak in April 1963 and settled in Avalon, N.J., where she raised her family before moving to Vero Beach.

Jeani was an avid abstract oil painter and her paintings were shown throughout various galleries in Cape May County and the US Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C. She loved her dog Sparky, who she rescued in 2014, and she had an uncanny ability to make family, friends, and strangers smile.

Jeani is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence; and her children, William Haryslak (Catherine), of Dennisville, N.J, Julie Schwartz (Jeffrey), of Cape May Court House, N.J., Mark Haryslak, of Vero Beach, and Matthew Haryslak (Rita) of Palm Springs, Calif.; and three granddaughters Emily (Schwartz) Head, Olivia Schwartz, and Shelby Haryslak.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 21, from 6-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Helen Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to H.A.L.O. No-Kill Animal Shelter Sebastian.
