In Memoriam: Sept. 11

Paul A. Cristiano, 89, of Vero Beach

Paul A. Cristiano, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018.  He was born in New York, N.Y., to the late Guisepi and Philomenia Cristiano.

He proudly served in the United States Army.  He was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Legion Post 39.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; two sons, Paul A. Cristiano, Jr., and Brian Cristiano; daughter, Eleanor Walsh; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St., Vero Beach.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2085 Tallahassee Ave., Vero Beach.

The family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

 

Kathleen D. O’Connor, 69, Vero Beach

Kathleen D. “Katy” O’Connor, 69, of Vero Beach, passed away Sept. 5, 2018. She was born in Bristol, Ct., and had lived in Hartford, Ct., and Boca Raton, Fla., prior to Vero Beach.

Katy had attended college in Connecticut.

Katy retired from Marvel Advertising, Boca Raton, after 12 years.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and volunteered at Indian River Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband, James O’Connor; brother, Glen Dakin; son, Kevin O’Connor; and grandson, Colin O’Connor.
