Gale “Muffet” Lavigne, 60, Vero Beach

On Sept. 3, 2018, the spirit of Gale “Muffet” Lavigne walked on. She left this world surrounded by her daughters and the love of all that knew her.

She was a native of Florida and a tribal member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

Muffet was an avid reader, and in her 60 years with us she enjoyed the beach, golfing, a game of dice, and spending time with her family and loved ones.

She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Lavigne and Jamie Ramos; granddaughter Jasmine Ramos; sisters, Rhonda Barlan and Yolanda Adams; brothers, David Melton and Dale Melton; nieces, Rhonda J. Beane and Kari Barlan; nephews, David Melton, Michael Melton, Stephen M. Adams, Jason Melton, Andrew Melton, Alex Melton; sisters-in-law, Edna Melton and Gina Melton; brother-in-law, Stephen S. Adams; daughter-in-law, Carly Thurston; son-in-law, Adrian Ramos; and father of her children, Clifford Lavigne.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Shenandoah Melton, father, Ray Melton Jr., brothers, Ray “Bo” Melton III, and Terry Melton; brother-in-law, David Barlan.
