Deputies search for woman wanted on theft, fraud charges

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Deputies are searching for a woman wanted on an active warrant for charges involving theft and fraud, authorities said.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help to locate 36-year-old Mary Beth Elliot. Deputies said Elliot, of the 1000 block of 34th Avenue Southwest, Vero Beach, is wanted on an active warrant.

Charges in the warrant include second-degree petit theft, credit card theft and attempting to use the identification of another person without consent, reports show. Each of the offenses occurred July 5.

Further details on the incidents were not immediately available. Elliot is described as 5-foot-6 inches and 120 pounds. She has black hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees Elliot should contact sheriff’s Detective Aaron Scranton at 772-978-6127. Callers can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 by contacting Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers.
