TCCH’s annual Great Duck Derby to come with help of Captain Hiram’s

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH) is happy to announce that their annual Great Duck Derby fundraiser will take place on Oct. 14 at Captain Hiram’s Sandbar. Captain Hiram’s became the first sponsor with a donation to jumpstart preparation for the event.

“We are so excited to be holding this community-favorite event once again in collaboration with Captain Hiram’s,” says Vicki Soule, CEO of TCCH. “It’s the one event children and families can attend together. Family-centered events are very important to us.”

In years past, TCCH has filled the lagoon with 5,000 yellow rubber ducks. Attendees cheer on their adopted ducks as they race to the finish line in the hopes of winning cash prizes and ultimate bragging rights!

Duck adoptions will begin soon at TCCH facilities and throughout the community so be on the lookout for the yellow Duck Derby logo!

The monies raised from the fundraiser will go toward TCCH’s mission of eliminating barriers to healthcare for all members of Indian River County, regardless of their socio economic status.

“At TCCH we will not refuse any patient due to their inability to pay. We rely heavily on local donations in order to provide comprehensive, affordable medical, dental and behavioral health services to all members of the community,” Soule said. “The Derby helps us build awareness within the community about the many individuals in need of affordable primary care services.”

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, TCCH opens its doors, services and hearts to all, regardless of one’s ability to pay. As Indian River’s first and only Federally Qualified Health Center, TCCH offers comprehensive primary care, including medical, dental and behavioral health services, and serves over 19,500 patients annually with more than 70,000 face-to-face patient visits. Sliding fee discounts may be available for patients with limited resources.

As an FQHC, TCCH is held to the highest standard of quality care. TCCH is accredited as a Patient Centered Medical and Dental Home by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), an independent organization which conducts ongoing evaluations to continuously improve care and services.
