Family fun in Sebastian receives June Dyer Difference Awards

SEBASTIAN — On Saturday, July 28, LaPorte Farms will be hosting its third annual Back to School Family Fun Day event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will receive free book bags and school supplies while supplies last, and the day will be loaded with bounce houses, duck races, magic shows, hay rides, a dunk tank, a chance to donate blood, meet members of the Special Olympics and Sebastian Sharks Cheerleading Teams, and lots more.

It’s every kid’s dream, and it’s a chance for the whole family to enjoy a wonderful day in the country and with one another.

Helping promote family and community is important to everyone at Dyer Chevrolet Mazda Subaru in Vero Beach, which is why LaPorte Farms was chosen to be honored as the June recipient of the Dyer Difference Award in Indian River County.

Since relocating to the area in 2008, each month, Dyer Chevrolet staff members at Dyer Chevrolet Fort Pierce and Dyer Chevrolet Mazda Subaru in Vero Beach meet to review the applications, which have been submitted in their respective counties, and select one non-profit organization to receive that month’s recognition and a $3,000 award in Indian River and St. Lucie counties.

For the Dyer family and the members of the Dyer staff, the award and the $6,000 in donations between the two counties are all about helping to make a positive difference in the community. For the recipients, it’s an acknowledgement of their tireless efforts to do the same and a much-needed financial boost to help further their missions.

If you’d like to nominate a non-profit organization for the Dyer Difference Award, please visit www.dyerdifference.org or find Dyer Difference on Facebook.
