Polly R. Bartlett, 83, Vero Beach
Polly R. Bartlett, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away April 14, 2018, at VNA Hospice House. She was born in Vero Beach on May 29, 1934, to Thomas Stanford and Lou Foy Roberts.
Polly was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and graduate from Vero Beach High School.
After attending Florida Southern College in Lakeland, she started her career at First Citrus Bank in downtown Vero Beach. She met Alfred Arlon Bartlett at a local car dealership and he started working at her father’s business, Roberts’ of Vero. They married Sept. 2, 1960, and eventually bought the business and expanded it into The Canvas Shop, which they owned and operated until selling it and the buildings on Commerce Avenue.
She is survived by her daughters Kerry A. Bartlett and Tracy R. Monaghan; and beloved granddaughters, Caitlyn, Carly and Ava.
Services will be private.

Gina Marie Cappello, Vero Beach
Our dearest sister, Gina M. Cappello joined our Lord and Savior on April 16, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer. Gina was born in Schenectady, N.Y., to Patrick and MaryAnn (nee Van Zandt) Cappello.
She will be sadly missed but always in the hearts of her siblings, Anne, Michael (Peta) and Patricia; and beloved nephews Anthony (Kayla) Subia, Ryan Cappello and Trey Peterson; and great niece, Ireland Subia.
Gina was a devoted and thoughtful cousin and niece to her extended family in New York and Oklahoma.
Gina attended Immaculate Conception grade school, Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady and graduated from Vero Beach High School. Gina earned her Associates from Indian River State College and Bachelor of Science degree from Barry University.
Gina won numerous state awards while in college for her speed and accuracy in shorthand and typing.
Our dearest Gina was an avid reader of all genres and huge fan of classic black and white films. She enjoyed poignant movies and would recommend her favorites with her own review of “Good movie, it was sad, it made me cry.”
She loved to spend Sunday’s curled up with Starbucks coffee and the New York Times after she completed a vigorous bridge walk or lengthy bike ride. Gina was athletic, stylish and always there to listen for a friend in need.
Gina was a devout congregant of St. Ann’s parish in West Palm Beach and generously supported many charities.
Gina successfully completed Outward Bound in North Carolina. She hiked the Santiago de Compostela trail in Spain and later traveled to Europe with her beloved Mike and Peta. Gina fearlessly pursued her quest for fulfillment by moving to Washington, D.C., where she worked for Korn Ferry and embarked on a solo cross-country move to San Francisco where she enjoyed new adventures and was an executive assistant with Northern Trust.
Gina’s professional colleagues were impressed with her maturity, grace and organizational abilities. Gina was the consummate communicator, whether in person or in writing. She enjoyed success and enduring friendships from her executive administrative position at The Center for the Arts, Dixon Ticonderoga (Vero Beach), Korn Ferry (DC), Northern Trust (San Francisco) and as a paralegal with Gould Cooksey (Vero Beach) and Gunster (West Palm Beach).
Gina was a best friend to many and a faithful correspondent who loved the written word and kept in touch with many friends and family on a regular basis via a handwritten note.
We will recall Gina’s intelligence, devout faith, quick wit and passionate defense of the adverb. Our Gina-beana was beautiful and lovely, thoughtful and kind to all and taken from us much too soon.
Please join us on April 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. Holy Cross Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds at 1950 20th Street Vero Beach, FL 32960.
