INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Deputies are investigating a body found in the bushes that detectives believe is the result of a hit-and-run crash, authorities said.

Deputies are at the scene near 58th Avenue and will remain there for several hours, said sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers. Preliminary information from evidence at the scene suggests the body is a result of a hit-and-run, Flowers said.

58th Avenue is closed between 33rd and 37th Streets, deputies said. Motorists should avoid the area and use 66th Avenue as an alternate route.

No further information was immediately available. More information is expected to be released Saturday, Flowers said.
