First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach offers Easter Cantata March 25

VERO BEACH – On Sunday March 25, the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach will present a cantata for Easter, entitled Behold the Lamb. Performances will take place during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services in the church sanctuary at 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach.

Behold the Lamb is a musical and narrative journey that illustrates the significant price that Jesus paid for our freedom and salvation. It recalls the story of Passover; a foretelling of the Passion. The despair of Christ’s crucifixion eventually gives way to joy in a triumphant celebration of His resurrection. The performance is blended into the worship service to create a truly reverential experience.

“I believe that the cantatas are an excellent way of showing a culmination of effort and intention,” said Director of Music and Arts Jacob Craig. “The congregation is used to seeing the choir perform on a weekly basis, and this is a great way (twice a year) for the choir to show a major project where every aspect of the service is able to be led by the choir. It allows them to act as continuous worship leaders throughout the service thought a centralized theme and to engage many musicians from our community as well.”

This will be the tenth cantata he has directed at First Presbyterian Church. It will include the Chancel Choir, Orchestra, and several guest musicians.
