IRC Main Library, Brackett Library offer free programs

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Main Library and the Brackett Library, both in Vero Beach, are offering numerous free programs to the public.

  • Friday Matinee Movies at the Main Library – Now through-December / First Friday of the Month – Noon: Bring a bag lunch and enjoy a movie and popcorn. Feature films for adults. No registration required. Call Hollie at 772-226-3080.
  • Butterflies and Native Plants with Ken Gonyo – March 14 at 2 p.m.: Presentation on butterflies and native plants. Special guest Pelican Audubon Society. No registration required. Call Hollie at 772-226-3080.
  • Vero Beach Historical Series: War Years and Dodgertown – March 13 at 2 p.m.: Take a journey back in time through a documentary series presented by the Indian River County Historical Series. Call Hollie at 772-226-3080.
  •  St. Patrick’s Day Celebration – March 16 at 3:30 p.m.: Join us for a fun and educational afternoon plus a special bagpipe performance. For more information, please call Hollie at 772-226-3080.

  • Lunch and Learn with Master Gardeners of Indian River County: Now- May / Second and Fourth Friday of the Month, 12-2 p.m.: Join us to learn more about Florida Friendly Landscaping. Bring a bag lunch. Coffee and bottled water will be provided.
  • Craft Days: Now-December / Third Monday of the month, 4-5 p.m.: Make and take crafts. New project each month. Supplies provided. Program is designed for adults.
  • Brackett’s Book Club: Now- December / Club meets the last Thursday of the month, 3-5 p.m.: Book selections are available at the Library.
  • Magic the Gathering: Now-December / Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m.: Come play the popular card game, Magic: The Gathering! Play in a variety of styles. Beginners are welcome, no experience required, all rules will be taught. We have a few decks you can borrow to learn how to play. Snacks and beverages will be provided. No entry fee, no card restrictions, just Magic. Ages 18 and up.
  • BINGO Mornings: Now- December / First Thursday of the Month, 10-11 a.m.: Join us for a cup of coffee and BINGO! Small prizes awarded to the winners. Registration encouraged.
  • Baby Wearing 101: March 12, 10 a.m.: Basic introductory class to wearing your baby, toddler, and preschooler. Registration required.
  • Computer Basics for Seniors: Fridays in March, 10 a.m. This class is for first time computer users and introduces common terms and features. Registration required.
  • Teen and Tween Craft Days: Now-December / Last Wednesday of the Month, 3 – 5 p.m. New project each week.
