Two men were charged in a plot where they kidnapped a third man, drove him to his bank and demanded the man give them $1,000, authorities said. The victim had walked into the bank, began crying and told staff he was abducted.

Keonte Terell Davis, 18, of the 1100 block of Southeast Sabrina Lane, Port St. Lucie, and De’Vonte Alfred Davis, 20, of the 1300 block of Atlantic Avenue, Fort Pierce, each were charged with kidnapping and possession of ecstasy.

Keonte Davis was also charged with possession of cocaine and grand theft auto. De’Vonte Davis faces an additional charge of possession of marijuana.

Deputies were called about 10 a.m. Wednesday to the Space Coast Credit Union bank, 2750 9th Street Southwest. Deputies then talked to the victim.

The victim told deputies he was in Fort Pierce the night before, where he was smoking cocaine and giving his money to people on the streets, an arrest report states. He drove to the area and left all of his belongings in his black Chevy truck.

About 6 a.m. the next morning, a man, later identified as De’Vonte Davis, came up to the victim and demanded “$80 for being on his street.” A second man, later identified as Keonte Davis, then got into the victim’s truck, drove off and then returned.

The victim said he never gave anyone else permission to drive his vehicle. The two suspects told the victim to get in the truck. The pair then searched for an ATM, demanding cash from the victim.

The victim told the pair he needed to go to a Vero Beach bank to get cash. The suspects drove to Space Coast Credit Union and now demanded $1,000 from the victim for the “inconvenience of driving around.”

An employee saw the truck driving around the bank and told the victim to hide in the bathroom and lock the doors, deputies said.

Deputies who arrived at the scene found drugs on De’Vonte Davis and also on the driver’s seat of the truck, last driven by Keonte Davis. Keonte Davis remains at the county jail on $135,000 bond and De’Vonte Davis remains at the jail on $106,000 bond.
