Main, Brackett libraries announce free programs through February

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Library officials have released the February schedule of programs for the Main and Brackett libraries. All programs are free and open to the public.

Brackett Library is located at 6155 College Lane, Vero Beach; Main Library is located at 1600 21st St., Vero Beach.

Brackett programs are as follows:

  • Lunch and Learn with Master Gardeners of Indian River County – Now through May / Second and Fourth Friday of the month, Noon to 2 p.m. Join us to learn more about Florida Friendly Landscaping.  Bring a bag lunch.  Coffee and bottled water will be provided.  No registration required.  Free to the public.  Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Craft Days – Now through December / Third Monday of the month, 4-5 p.m. Make and take crafts.  New project each month.  No registration is required.  Supplies provided.  Program is designed for adults.  Please call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Brackett’s Book Club – Now through December / Club meets the last Thursday of the month,  3-5 p.m.  Book selections are available at the Library. Please call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Magic the Gathering – Now through December / Every Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. Come play the popular card game, Magic: The Gathering!  Play in a variety of styles.  Beginners are welcome, no experience required, all rules will be taught.  We have a few decks you can borrow to learn how to play.  Snacks and beverages will be provided.  No entry fee, no card restrictions, just Magic.  Ages 18 and up.
  • BINGO Mornings – Now through December / First Thursday of the month, 10-11 a.m.  Join us for a cup of coffee and BINGO.  Small prizes awarded to the winners.  Program is free but registration is encouraged.  Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 to register.
  • 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s Disease – Feb. 2, 2 p.m.  Normal aging versus Dementia workshop.  Free and open to the public.  Brought to you by the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of IRC. Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Discover MORE with the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce workshop – Feb. 13, 2 p.m.  We all know Indian River County has beautiful beaches, but do you know all the historical and local attractions our county has to offer?  Join us to learn more!  Free program and open to the public.  Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Valentine’s Paint Night – Feb. 14, 6 p.m.  Avoid the crowds on Valentine’s night and join us for a relaxing night of silhouette painting.  Free program and all supplies provided.  Registration is required.  Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 to register.
  • Basic Dog and Cat Care Class – Feb. 21, 4 p.m.  Have a new addition to your home?  Join us and learn about basic dog and care.  Presented by the Humane Society of Indian River County.  Free class and open to all ages.  No registration is required.   • Book Tasting Party – Feb. 27, 1-3 p.m.  A book tasting is a great opportunity to expose yourself to new books, genres, or authors that you might not consider otherwise.  Drop by to sample delicious titles and authors and leave with something new! Indian River County Main Library

  • Friday Matinee Movies at the Main Library – Now through December / First Friday of the Month, Noon. Bring a bag lunch and enjoy a movie and popcorn on us. Feature films for adults.  No registration required.  Free and open to the public.  Call Hollie at 772-226-3080 for more information.
  • Volunteer Fair – Feb. 23, 2-4 p.m.  Want to give back to your community, but don’t know where to start?  Connect with local organizations to see how you can make a difference by volunteering!
