Tourist hurt after landing in tree during skydive

SEBASTIAN — A 69-year-old German tourist has injuries to his face and head after landing in a 20-foot tree during a skydive, deputies said.

The incident happened about 1 p.m. Friday at Donald McDonald Park on Roseland Road, near the Sebastian Municipal Airport, 202 Airport Drive East. The man was taken by ambulance to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, said sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers.

His condition was not immediately available. Details on if the man was with Skydive Sebastian or a lone skydiver were not available.

Skydive Sebastian was not immediately available for comment.
