Cooler weather to continue this week

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Cooler weather is here to stay, at least for the rest of the week.

For Monday, there will be a high temperature near 66 degrees and a low temperature around 50 degrees, weather experts said. North winds will be 10 to 15 mph.

Monday and Tuesday will both have sunny days and cloudy nights.

Tuesday will have a high temperature near 70 degrees and a low temperature near 51 degrees. Northeast winds will be 5 to 10 mph.

For Wednesday, there will be a high temperature near 70 degrees with a low temperature near 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne. The day will be mostly sunny and the night will have clear skies; north northwest winds will be 5 to 15 mph.

Wind gusts for Wednesday will be as high as 25 mph.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 60 degrees. That night will be partly cloudy with a low temperature near 46 degrees. Northeast winds will be about 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday will be partly sunny a high temperature near 66 degrees. That night will be partly cloudy with a low temperature near 53 degrees. Northeast winds will be around 5 mph.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Local residents will feel blustery wind gusts - up to 40 mph - long before statewide storms were expected to trek through the county late Tuesday, meteorologists said. By the time the widespread, quick-moving storms move across the area, the damaging gusts will reach 50-to-60 mph, possibly accompanied by hail and a chance of tornadoes, said Zach Law, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Melbourne. VERO BEACH — The coldest weather so far for the winter season will be felt Saturday and Sunday mornings, which will have plunging wind chill values in the mid-30s, forecasters said.
