Leonard Lent, 88, Vero Beach

Leonard Lent, 88, of Vero Beach, passed away Jan. 9, 2018, at Indian River Estates. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio, to Charles and Nellie Lent. He moved to Vero Beach in 1991.

He graduated from Muskingum University, New Concord, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Navy.

Leonard was inventory manager for RCA Television, Bloomington, Ind., for 36 years.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach.

He is survived by his wife; Constance, of Vero Beach; son, Randall (Lisa); daughter, Cheryl Lent; granddaughter, Rachel Lent, of Bloomington, Ind.; stepson, Mark Perkins (Julie); step-granddaughter, Maggie Perkins, of Vevay, Ind.

A Memorial service is planned on Jan. 19, 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.

 

Joseph Andrew Nemits, 19, Sebastian

Joseph Andrew Nemits, 19, of Sebastian, the son of Michael and Barbara (Zaleski) Nemits, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, as a result of his injuries from a motor vehicle accident.

Joe loved the outdoors and fishing was his passion. He was a success at any sport he played growing up – soccer, baseball and football, even snowboarding for the first time this week. He always lived life to the fullest, but above all family came first and loved them with all his heart.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Michael; and sister Kaitlyn; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Barbara Zaleski, also of Sebastian; uncles, Andrew Zaleski, of Vero Beach, John Zaleski and his wife, Nikki, of Sebastian, and Steve Nemits and his wife, Sharlene, of Pennsylvania; and many cousins and extend family in Florida, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Saint Sebastian Church in Sebastian. Friends may call at Seawinds Funeral Home Monday, Jan. 15, from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org).
