Bank robbery probe continues

No arrests have been made and scant new details are being released into the brazen armed robbery of the Seacoast Bank on SE Port St. Lucie Boulevard in late December.

Police spokesman Master Sgt. Frank Sabol told St. Lucie Voice Tuesday that they continue to investigate and are now working with other jurisdictions and the FBI.

Investigators are encouraging the public to step forward with any information regarding the three men shown in surveillance footage. The men, with faces nearly completely covered and wearing gloves, hurdled the bank tellers’ counter, demanded money, and brandished at least one firearm, all while at least two customers sat in chairs in a waiting area.

No one was injured in the robbery, according to authorities, which happened just before 10 a.m. Dec. 28, a Thursday.

While the police department continues its investigation, authorities encourage anyone with information to call 772-871-5001 or remain anonymous by calling Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273 TIPS.
