PetSmart via Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach donates 1,200 stuffed animals

VERO BEACH – Each year, PetSmart offers its customers a $5 deal – with purchase, you can add $5 and donate a stuffed animal to a local charity. Sunrise Rotarian Barbara duPont works with PetSmart and gets those stuffed animals to Harbor Community Bank Manager Tina Nicholson who the charities come to for them.

So far this season four bags of 50 each went to the Scully Welsh Cancer Center, one bag of 50 went to Little Birthday Angels, three bags of 50 went to Feed the Lambs, one bag of 50 to each Sunshine Physical Therapy, Vero Beach Police Department, St. Lucie Sheriff’s Department, Senior Center, St. Francis Manor, Hibiscus House and the Indian River Sheriff’s Department; two bags of 50 went to Indian River Academy, and two bags of 50 went to Morning Side Elementary’s TV Toy Show. More stuffed animals are coming.

What a great outreach for PetSmart’s customer and area charities and the Sunrise Rotary Vero Beach Rotarians.

You can reach Sunrise Rotary at www.sunriserotaryverobeach.org or visit a meeting any Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Vista Royal Golf Grille.
