Robert Jackson Cooper, 81, Vero Beach

Robert “Bob” Jackson Cooper, 81, of Vero Beach, passed away Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at his home after a lengthy illness. Bob was born in Eolia, Ky., on Feb. 20, 1936, moving to Vero Beach in his 20s becoming a lifetime resident.

He worked at the City of Vero Beach Power Plant for 30 years before retiring.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bulah; daughters, Barbara Cooper Thomas, of Vero Beach, Betsy (Vance) Cooper Olvey, of Vero Beach, and Betty Sue (Jeffrey) Cooper Gomez, of Vero Beach; sisters, Emma Lou Henley, of Greenville, Tenn., Aliene Parrish, of Vero Beach, Charlotte Cooper, of Jonesboro, Tenn., Yolanda (Coy) Barnett, of Big Stone Gap, Va., Glenda Blanton, of Vero Beach, Jewel (Bob) Carroll, of Port Orchard, Wash., and Debra Hampton, of Grey, Tenn.; brothers, Benjamin Leroy Cooper, of Hiltons, Va., and Gerald (Nancy) Cooper, of Collinsville, Miss.; grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Smith, Lilianna Thomas, Bradley Farless, Jessica Bowen, Kayden Olvey, Chase Gomez and Collin Gomez; and great-grandchildren, Rosalee Smith, Reed Smith and Brantley Bowen; as well as a host of many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Deats.

He will be greatly missed by those who loved him dearly.
