Master’s Academy student selected for All-State Middle School Band

VERO BEACH – Master’s Academy 8th grade student Sarah Ward was selected to participate in the 2018 Florida Bandmaster’s Association All-State Middle School Band. This is Sarah’s second year earning a seat in this band which is composed of the finest young musicians in the state.

“I am so privileged to be Sarah’s band teacher,” Jennifer Royals, Master’s Academy music teacher and band director, said. “She is a leader among her peers and will be an asset to the All-State Band again this year.”

Auditions for the band were held in September. The students who were selected will be performing in concert at the Florida Music Education Association Convention in Tampa this coming January. This is one of the highest honors a middle school musician can receive in the state of Florida.

In addition to playing in the Middle School Band at Master’s Academy, Sarah has been studying oboe privately with Anita Juilianna of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra for the past three years.

Master’s Academy is located at 1105 58th Ave., Vero Beach, and offers excellence in academics, the arts, athletics, and service for students in Preschool through 12th grade.
