Jane E. Forbes, 69, Vero Beach

Jane E. Forbes, 69, passed away on Nov. 20, 2017, in Vero Beach. Mrs. Forbes was born in Queens, N.Y., and moved to Fort Pierce 40-plus years ago.

Jane was a volunteer and council commissioner with Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years, touching many lives. She was in legal work for 50 years and was a member of the Elks.

Survivors include her sons, Jason (Crystal) Forbes, of Louisville, Ky., and Joseph (Tonya) Forbes, of Panama City, Fla.; sister, Lorriane Mallon, of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Raegan, Easton, and Hali Forbes; cousins, Dennis Mallon, of Fort Pierce, and Francine Obermeyer, of Stuart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Forbes.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, from 5-7 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. at White City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.

 

Catherine Eleanor Jones Miller, 78, Vero Beach

Catherine Eleanor Jones Miller, 78, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2017.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the daughter of Howard L Jones and Blanche Delaney Jones.

She graduated Vero Beach High School in 1956 and attended the University of Florida.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of 58 years Randolph Nelson Miller; brother, Howard Jones; son, Barry Miller (Cheryl); daughters, Judy Lellie (Mike), Lisa Miller (Linda); four grandchildren, Barry Miller, Ashely Eldridge, Alex Miller, Dewey Lellie; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Miley and Trent Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her parents; sisters, Doris Maughan and Marilyn Rich; and brother, Bobby Jones.

A visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, on Sunday Nov. 26, from 2-4 p.m., and a funeral service on Nov. 27 at Noon at St. Helen Church in Vero Beach, followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
