Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach celebrates 20 years with gala

VERO BEACH – For 20 years, Donna and Ted Robart, co-founders of the Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach, have been following their passion – to build a refuge, a place of hope and opportunity for the wounded. Since their humble beginnings in 1997, they’ve been committed and passionate about their work. Through residential and non-residential programs, hundreds have come to experience freedom from emotional or mental health problems.

I believe what we have here is a sanctuary – a place where people can start over, find their purpose, and true identity,” Mrs. Robart says.

This fall, the Refuge will be celebrating 20 years of helping hurting women and families. The agency announced its 20th Year Anniversary Gala will take place at First Church of God on Friday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.

Dr. Wayne L. Creelman, a member of their Advisory Board, clinical psychiatrist, and mental health advocate will be the Keynote Speaker. There will be music presentations by MaryAnn Lee Rutter and members of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra. A special gourmet dinner will be served by New Orleans International Chef Rich Lee.

The Anniversary Gala is an opportunity to celebrate, hear about the ongoing work of this marvelous ministry and financially support the ongoing needs.

The Women’s Refuge is a 501c3 organization, which receives no government funding and relies heavily on the prayers, gifts, and grants from their supporters.

Serving the Treasure Coast, the Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach offers a unique, spiritual approach to care for the emotionally and spiritually wounded. Through their one-on-one Biblical counseling, their residential and non-residential programs, hurting women and families can find a new purpose with hope and direction for their lives.
