Arthur Robert Wheatley, 77, Vero Beach

Arthur Robert Wheatley, 77, of Vero Beach, passed away Oct. 26, 2017, at VNA Hospice House with his daughters by his side. Art was born Jan. 1, 1940, in St. Charles, Mich., to the late James and Katherine (Glaser) Wheatley.

He was a talented Master Carpenter with an eye for perfection. He enjoyed the beach with a beer in his hand, mowing the lawn and spending time with his family.

Art is survived by his daughters; Kristi Wheatley, Brooke Martin, and Korri (Pieter) Van Dalen; six grandchildren, Samantha Wheatley (Jared), Jordyn Wheatley, Skyler Martin, Spencer Martin and Alyssa and Alex Van Dalen; and two great-grandchildren Simon and Olive; and his sister, Shirley Lee.

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Consulate Health Care and to VNA Hospice House.

Art was a simple man and didn’t want a big “to do” after his passing, his wish was to be cremated. Please have a beer in his honor because that is what a Wheatley does.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
