16th Street reopen after water main break

VERO BEACH — 16th Street has reopened after being closed from a water main break, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.

City crews fixed the water main pipe and the road reopened about 4 p.m. Thursday, police said. Officers think the main break caused a large pot hole to form in the roadway.

About 2 p.m., the water main break temporarily closed westbound 16th Street between 20th and 27th avenues in Vero Beach. Eastbound 16th Street between 27th Avenue and 15th Lane also was temporarily closed, officials said.

The closure was west of Vero Beach High School, 1707 16th Street. There is no boil water alert in response to the water main break at this time.
