Sebastian names community development director

SEBASTIAN — City manager Joe Griffin has a high level of confidence in his new employee Lisa Frazier.

Frazier, of Indialantic, started her job as the new community development director for Sebastian on Sept. 18, according to Griffin. Some of her duties include overseeing land development projects and environmental projects.

Frazier also is part of the planning and zoning board and the natural resources board. She has worked as a consultant in the public and private development field for more than 26 years and has extensive experience in land development, long range planning and design, transportation planning, environmental systems planning and restoration and more.

“She’s a very talented lady and knows what she’s doing,” Griffin said. “I’ve got a high level of confidence she will do well.”

Frazier was selected out of 7 candidates for the position by a search committee. The committee chose Frazier unanimously for the job, Griffin said.

“I’m excited to be working for Sebastian,” Frazier said. “As a private planner, I’ve been exposed to different projects.”

Frazier holds a Masters degree in environmental planning from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, is a certified planner with the American Planning Association and is the chair of the local APA chapter.
