Single use plastics (disposable plastic products designed to be used only once) have become what seems to be an unavoidable part of most people’s everyday lives. The convenience of these products is undeniable and often we don’t question the disposal process or the vast ecological impacts these products have.

“Save the Sea; Go Plastic Free” is a Florida campaign that aims to significantly reduce the number of single use plastic bags that are produced and used in Florida. The long term goal of the campaign is to empower environmental groups across the state and help them pass plastic bag ban ordinances. Save the Sea; Go Plastic Free is a grassroots effort to encourage our state legislators to enact accordingly and pass a statewide plastic bag ban law.

Help the Florida Young Democrats of Indian River raise awareness and support for this initiative by attending the Beach Clean Up this Saturday. For more information about Save the Sea; Go Plastic Free visit facebook.com/SaveTheSeaGoPlasticFree
