SEBASTIAN — A 55-year-old man was arrested after he filmed and pointed a gun at his neighbor and her two friends because he thought they were talking about a drug deal, police said.

Paul Joseph Weaver, of the 100 block of Admiral Circle, Sebastian, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Indian River County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Police responded to the scene about noon Thursday and spoke with the neighbor. The neighbor told police she was in her driveway talking to her friends, another woman and a man, when Weaver came out of his home and began filming all three with his cell phone.

An argument began as the three realized Weaver was recording them. Weaver said “f**k you” to the neighbor and her friends and pointed a gun at them, police said.

When one of the neighbor’s friends said she was going to call police, Weaver walked back to his home and closed the door. Police went to Weaver’s home and arrested him.

Weaver told police he filmed the three because he thought they were talking about a drug deal, police said. Weaver said he noticed one of the neighbor’s friends give her money as he filmed them.

Weaver was taken to the county jail for booking.
