U.S. 1 lanes to close near 17th St. for curb repair

VERO BEACH — The outside lanes of U.S. 1 at 17th Street between Cumberland Farms and Millers Chevron will be closed for curb repair on Monday.

The lanes will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to police. The curb repair began on Friday and will resume Monday.

Motorists who are heading west on 17th Street and decide to turn onto U.S. 1 should know that those two lanes will combine into one lane.

Deputies investigating possible arson after brush fire fully contained

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Deputies were investigating the Sunday brush fire as a possible arson after learning two people were seen in the same wooded area moments before flames ignited. Detectives spoke with a witness and a person of interest, said Sgt. Kevin Jaworski, a spokesperson with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
