INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Indian River County Recreation Department will begin taking registrations for the 2018 Winter Basketball Season starting Oct. 2. The co-ed leagues are designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, discipline, and most importantly fun. Children ages 4-15 are encouraged to participate this season.
The Indian River County Recreation Department will only honor the first five requests per team in the Mighty Mite and Midget Divisions. In the Junior and Senior Divisions players will be drafted onto teams. All registered players will be selected and place on a team.
Player fees are $35 and Sponsor fees are $150. Birth certificates are required at time of registration. Registration will close on Nov. 11, 2017.
Teams will be separated by age divisions:
- Tot-Time 4-5yrs.old
- Mighty Mite 6-8yrs. old
- Midgets 9-10yrs. old
- Juniors 11-12yrs. old
- Seniors 13-15yrs. Old
* Playing age reached by March 2, 2018.
Coaches, officials, and sponsors are needed for all age groups.
Sign up at the iG Center (1590 9th St. SW), Gifford Aquatic Center (4895 43rd Ave.) and North County Aquatic Center (9450 CR 512) between 8:30a.m. – 5p.m.
