“Downtown Friday” cancelled for weather

Downtown Friday cancelled in Vero Beach

VERO BEACH — A popular street party featuring bands and activities has been cancelled because of the weather forecast for the evening.

Residents can expect showers and a possible thunderstorm before 8 p.m., according to weather meteorologists. They also can expect southwest winds with gusts as high as 20 mph and rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half inch.

“Downtown Friday” is held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the last Friday of every month, except March and December. It’s held by Main Street Vero Beach at 14th Avenue and State Road 60 in the historic downtown Vero Beach.

Main Street Vero Beach announced the event cancellation early Friday. Downtown Friday, which is free, has street vendors, kids activities, food vendors and is family and dog friendly.
