Sheriff’s deputies hunt suspect who stole dirt bike

VERO BEACH — Deputies are searching for a suspect who stole a dirt bike from an auto shop two weeks ago, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

He asked to test ride a 2000-2001 Yamaha dirt bike at about 3 p.m. July 25 at Stepaneks Auto Sales & Service, Inc., 1250 Oslo Road, Vero Beach, authorities said. The suspect made three loops and then headed eastbound off the lot on 9th Street Southwest.

The suspect is described as 6 feet, 180 pounds with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing an orange sleeve T-shirt, black pants, flip flops and carrying a Nike back pack.
