900-acre wildfire in Blue Cypress contained

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Florida Forest Service has contained a 900-acre wildfire at Blue Cypress. 

It was three miles long north to south and one mile wide east to west, according to authorities.

The wildfire was burning in the grass and marsh, according to authorities. The fire was surrounded by canals, dikes and roads. Nothing was being threatened. They have named it the Johnny Marsh fire.

Smoke plumes are reached the Okeechobee Correctional Institute and spread out to the landfill. 

The fire burnt itself out once it reached the willow trees, according to authorities.
